AGMC to Assume Assets of AFWC
After 27 years, the Atlanta Feminist Women’s Chorus has officially closed its doors. Based on extensive research, the AFWC board recently voted to award the remaining assets to the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus in order to seed the creation of a new women’s chorus in the future.
The AGMC presented the strongest case for developing a new women’s chorus, primarily because of their mission, which speaks to bringing together the gay and lesbian communities, their strong infrastructure already in place (full time artistic and executive directors), their broad support in the community, and their unwavering focus on musical excellence.
