Opera has done many things over the centuries, and many things have been done to opera. Opera has gone mad, gone to hell, and been done-up in many ways. In 2008, the AGMC produced a concert that focused on this rich repertoire with a one-night only performance at the home of the Atlanta Opera called Divas and Dilemmas: Opera our way.

In this sequel to our popular opera concert of 2008, AGMC will explore the rich repertoire of opera, performing the music of Bizet, Bernstein, and Wagner, to name a few. And what would an opera concert be without the Three Little Maids and a reprise of the Anvil Chorus, complete with hammer-hauling hunks.

AGMC will also break new ground as it takes the stage at the home of the Georgia Shakespeare Festival. The Conant Performing Arts Center on the campus of Oglethorpe University is a 500-seat house with a thrust stage. The many entrance points (including two from halls that disappear into the stadium-style seating), combined with friendly acoustics for non-amplified performances, will enable us to capture the grandeur of this music while maintaining a sense of intimacy with our audience.

So...grab your helmets and copper brassieres. AGMC is ready to do opera our way...again!
