Opportunties to Volunteer
Contact Us

Volunteers play an important role in the success of the Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus.  Each year, we are privileged to have a committed core of volunteers who share their time, talents, and energy through a broad spectrum of volunteer opportunities and activities.

Throughout the year, AGMC volunteers play an active and leading role in working to support the artistic and programmatic priorities of the organization. As a result of the comprehensive array of volunteer opportunities available, AGMC is able to tailor one's volunteer experience that best fits his or her availability, skills and desires.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Office – Administrative Support
Office volunteers provide essential support and assistance to AGMC staff during the workday. Volunteers organize and maintain files, assist with mailings, respond to telephone inquiries, input computer data and help with other clerical functions. Most office assistance is needed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.

Greeters and Ushers

Greeters help to create a warm and inviting environment by welcoming patrons to select concerts and distributing concert programs as they enter the concert venue. Ushers assist concert attendees by helping them to find their seats before the concert, the doors on their way out and of course, the restrooms. This job is for volunteers who enjoy communicating with the public and lots of them!

Audience Development and Communications Task Force

The Audience Development and Communications Taskforce provides leadership, expertise and resources to assist AGMC with branding, public relations and marketing initiatives and strategies in support of AGMC’s strategic plan.  Activities and initiatives conducted by the task force include but not limited to; developing a comprehensive yearly marketing and communications plan, website content development, e-newsletter development, iinterfacing with media contacts, developing and distributing media advisories, representing AGMC at community events, and developing strategic partnerships with community organizations.

Financial Development Committee

The Financial Development Committee leads the organization’s efforts to develop and execute a comprehensive Resource Development Plan to diversify, broaden and expand the resource base of AGMC.  Priorities include donor cultivation and stewardship, major gifts, corporate and foundation support, special event production, and individual giving.

“Snowflakes melt alone - but together they can be traffic stoppers! Teamwork allows common people to attain uncommon results.  Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen. Volunteers aren't paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.”
- Anonymous

"Volunteering can be an exciting, growing, enjoyable experience. It is truly gratifying to

serve, practice one's ideals, work with

people, solve problems, see benefits, and

know one had a hand in them."

- Harriet Naylor

can serve.”
