The Cathedral of St. Philip
The annual AGMC Holiday Concert has become a much-loved December tradition, especially since the late 1990s when the entertaining and inspiring event moved to what has become its “home” ever since — the beautiful Cathedral of St. Philip, the South’s largest Episcopal cathedral.  The chorus will share the program with The Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde, one of the country’s longest-running children’s choruses, while premiering a new work by American composer David Conte.

 

Divas 2: Opera OUR Way

The Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University

The popularity of the first Opera OUR Way concert two years ago at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre has enticed the AGMC to present a second and highly anticipated tribute to opera composers as part of the chorus’ 30th season celebration. Featuring encores of such cleverly staged performances as “The Anvil Chorus” and “Three Little Maids,” Divas 2 will add new songs in a production at that balances the serious and lighter sides of operatic music theatre.

 

Thirty Years of Broadway

The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus wraps up its 30th season with a tribute to Broadway musical theatre that brings acclaimed Broadway and television star Joanna Gleason to Atlanta. Gleason, who has won several Tony Awards in her own three-decade career including Best Actress (for Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods), brings a unique energy and sense of humor to the stage that is the perfect complement to the 100-voice AGMC.
