Mark your calendars today for the exciting concerts of our 37th Season! Join the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and Atlanta Women’s Chorus for our 2017-2018 concert series.
OCTOBER 21, 2017 • Church on Ponce at Highland
The Atlanta Women’s Chorus will focus on music that reflects what we wish our children to learn from us about the world in which they live and coming into their own. Through music we will explore roles and values that enable youth to learn about life, how to become all they can be, and how we can model and set examples that will encourage self-reliance, resiliency, kindness, and compassion. Everything from playground songs, to popular and classical selections speak to the theme.
December 8 & 9, 2017 • The Cathedral of St Philip
The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus rings in the holiday season with handbells, Barbra Streisand songs and holiday favorites made popular by the chorus over the years. Featuring AGMC’s acclaimed string quartet and the Handbell Choir of Morningside Presbyterian Church, this concert is a time for friends old and new to gather and rejoice in the season. The perfect way to start your holidays!
February 17, 2018 • Druid Hills Presbyterian Church
The Atlanta Women’s Chorus turns 5 years old! The concert will celebrate the event with audience and singer favorites from our first five years. We’ve done the surveys! We’ve pulled out and dusted off the most loved pieces and we are ready to celebrate. Some new and exciting pieces will give you a preview of what the future holds as well!
March 30 & 31, 2018 • Out Front Theater
There’s much in our world to sing about and the AGMC is taking it on the road with music that reflects the ever changing social climate in which we live. The chorus will tackle social issues with good will, personal stories and a large dose of humor. Join the men when they return from their tour to Macon, Columbus, Montgomery and Birmingham, partnering with local non-profits to promote causes worthwhile.
June 2, 2018 • Out Front Theater
The Atlanta Women’s Chorus takes a musical look at the intangible barriers that prevent women and minorities from obtaining upper level positions and advancing in life. Through music sung by women and marginalized groups throughout history we will explore frustrations, disappointment, hopes and dreams of a world without glass ceilings.
June 29 & 30, 2018 • Out Front Theater
The AGMC is thrilled to bring Broadway back to the stage with its second appearance at Out Front, Atlanta’s LGBT theatre hub. Featuring favorite songs from Broadway revivals like PIPPIN and FALSETTOS to the greatest hits from current shows, including SOMETHING ROTTEN, HAMILTON, KINKY BOOTS, and DEAR EVAN HANSEN, the chorus will bring back to the stage one of the things it does best: Broadway…Broadway NOW!
